The Egyptian Drug Authority said inspection campaigns conducted during May 2026 resulted in the closure of 85 unlicensed establishments across 17 governorates.

According to the authority, inspectors seized medicines, medical supplies and other products whose origins could not be verified. The reported violations also included unlicensed manufacturing and storage, unregistered products and sales without official invoices.

The authority placed the estimated value of seized products above EGP 70 million. These figures are the regulator's published account and have not been independently audited by LIVE AGAIN.
